Sunday Over the Hill

As a british co-worker of mine would say, Paul and I had a "lay-in "this morning......and by that I mean we slept in. Breakfast was eggs, bacon, fresh friut, orange juice and coffee. We caught up on the weekends newspapers and did some suduko. We caught 'The Vinyl Cafe" on CBC radio at noon and interestingly enough, Stewart MacLean was talking about "To Do Lists" and that is what we tackled today. After all we live on 'Honeydew Court"....honey do this, honey do that :-)We plan to tackle something every week and hope to have the list completed by spring. We are having snow today...they are forecasting upwards of 20-30cm., so we filled the wood box and we are settled in for the storm. Fortunately I'm not booked to work tomorrow and by the sounds of it I'll be quite happy to stay home. We've had a quiet afternoon with a game of scrabble and Paul has been watching some hockey. Have a great week everyone!!!!!

Weekend Activities

Friday Paul went back to work. Emma is already in Fredericton and Brenna is in the Miramichi with the love of her life, so I had a day all to myself. It included sleeping in, a nice leisure breakfast and then I started to undecorate......what a job. I managed to get a good dent in it as well as I undecorated the real tree in the family room. This morning Paul and I were up and out before 1000hr. We took the tree to the landfill site and then stopped for groceries on the way home. The afternnon saw us take the lights down outside (it's amazing how quickly things come down as opposed to putting them up.) did more undecorating inside and then we decided to go to the 1605 showing of "The Curious Case of Benjamin Buttons". It's a 2hour 47min. show. I was surprised how quickly the time went....not a bad movie. Tomorrow morning we head to Fredericton to take up what the girls couldn't take with them. Brenna couldn't take all of her things with her to the Miramichi. Emma also left a few things behind. Then Monday it is back to work. I've been off 2 1/2 weeks and I must say I really am not the least bit interested in returning. Oh well it can't be all fun and games, you have to come back to reality at some point!!!!

New Years Day

The weather today was windy and cold. The temperature was -16C with a wind chill of -28C. I took this video from inside the house. I thought I would give Mary a reminder of winter in Canada...after all she is in summer in Australia and the temperatures have been running mid thirties during the day there. Jeff, +17 in the evening is NOT COLD :-).....this is!

New Years Eve

We spent a lovely evening with Gerry and Diane.

Prior to the meal we had crackers and dip and a little wine. Then we had a delicious meal of stuffed turkey, twice baked potatoes and mixed vegetables with a little more wine.

Dessert followed with an assortment of goodies from over the hill. Gerry is having an almond finger. We then moved to the living room for great conversation and laughter.
Paul and I returned home before midnight to let the old year out and the new year in.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!
