Today Mom, Dad and I ate at the "Reversing Falls Restaurant". Mom had her doctors appointment and when we finished it was close to lunch time. I asked Paul to join us but he was tooooooooo busy at work....maybe next time.

A Little Late For This Winter

Paul took the plunge and bought a pair of snowshoes on ebay. They are used but in great shape. Now we are all set for next winter.....I never thought I would say this, but I hope we have lots of snow next winter; just snow, though, no ice!

Isaac Celebrated his 5th B-day with Opa and Oma

As you know, Opa and Oma are down this weekend. On Saturday we had Peter and family out for supper and celebrated Isaac's birthday.

Lego time.

Sasha was running a temperature after his MMR vaccination, so Michele was giving him some medicine. He sat still and took it with no complaints.

Supper time......ham, vegetables, rolls and salad.

Oma had made cupcakes with "Flash MacQueen" cupcake papers. We frosted them here amd put sprinkles on them....Isaac's favorite.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ISAAC!!!!!!

Final Touch to Laundry Room

Went to Fabricville after work on Thursday and within 5 minutes found this material. I think it compliments the colors in the room and the price was right....$6.00 for the valance; works for me.

Old Out - New In

Our faithful stove of 26 years, moved out today. It still works great but it's time to start repalcing the appliances before we absolutely have to. We are trying to find a good home for it.

The new stove arrived today.......

.......notice the smooth top, no burners!

The oven is convection, self cleaning with porcelain rakes. I sound like a kid with a new toy :-)

New Look for Laundryroom/Bathroom

Last week and this weekend, Paul and I painted the laundryroom/bathroom. I have spent the last month with paint chips on the walls trying to find a color to match the flooring. The girls were home over March Break and gave their opinion...and so we painted it with benjamin moore paint #2128 oxford gray. I think it looks more blue and that is the look I was going for. We repainted the base boards and door/window casings. Now I have to make a trip to Fabricville and get material for a window valance. Below are before and after pictures. I have my before and after pictures backwards :-)

STOP-STOP NOW and everything inbetween

My custom made speedometer.

The "Aunts" Come Marching

The aunts come marching one by one,
HURRAH! HURRAH!
The aunts come marching one by one,
HURRAH! HURRAH!
The aunts come marching one by one,
It's Dainty Dot with her big bass drum.
"To the guest room please," says Pop.
Up she hops with a THUMP
And a WHUMP
BUMP, BUMP, FLUMP.

Bill Richardson and Cynthia Nugent - what a perfect picture-book author/illustrator partnership!
Richardson's love of word play and his uninhibited imagination have resulted in a truly wacky take on the old chestnut "The Ants Go Marching" (In this case, it's an invasion of relatives rather than insects).
As successive groups of weirdly attired aunts come marching in, they produce a cacophony of sound that delights the children but drives their poor father into such a state that he sends the musical aunties one after the other up to the guest room.
Nationally acclaimed, award-winning artist Cynthia Nugent has created a parade of aunts in a truly mind and eye-boggling variety. They include piccolo Pat (in Egyptian costume) with sousaphone Sue (a horned and booted Viking), bare-midriffed and mini-skirted bagpipers, a clothesline hung with trombonists from the Wild West and finally ten musician aunts led by Auntie Gwen who is dressed in sumptuous Eastern-style purple attire replete with golden turned-up-toe slippers.
Paul and I were listing to CBC while having breakfast this morning. They were interviewing Mary Walsh who was brought up by her aunt rather tham her family. It went on to talk about the above book and how people in the Maritimes pronounce AUNT - ahnt and those west of us prononce AUNT like the insect ant.
I thought Peter might like this for the boys and Emma might like it when dealing with children.

Sunshine and Warmth....Signs of Spring

Tulips

Crocus'

What an absolutely beautiful spring like day. The sun is warm, no clouds in the sky and I have the green leaves of tulips and crocus' poking up through the ground. They are at the back of the house, along the foundation, where it is nice and warm. I spent the morning doing chores around the house and after lunch met a friend and co-worker at the golf course and went snowshoeing. It was so peaceful and relaxing. Paul is watching a pair of snowshoes on ebay and hopefully he can snipe they for a reasonable price. No one has bid yet.....after all we are getting to the end of the season. Tomorrow I am off and Paul is planning to take the day off as well. We may get to the job of painting the laundry room....it's been 12+ years, I think it's time.

Isaac's 5th Birthday

This Sunday, Isaac celebrated his 5th birthday. The party was at the Aquatic Center. They started with cake and then it was pool time.

Yukon Charlie 825 Snowshoes

Today my snowshoes and poles arrived. I purchased them on ebay from the states and have been anxiously awaiting their arrival. I went snowshoeing after work yesterday and it is rather crusty.....it would have been a great time to try out my NEW snowshoes. I'm not sure I will get out again :-( unless we get more snow. I know, I know, we are tired of winter and ready for spring, there is always next winter .

Bald Eagles

A few weeks back I had read in our local paper that there were bald eagles at our local land fill site. Today, Paul had to do the garbage run, so I tagged along.....with camera in tow. Above is an adult eagle but it was quite a distance away.
This is a juvenile eagle. It doesn't yet have its white head and tail.......it looks rather dirty.
I would have tried to get closer to the birds, but we were approached by one of the workers and told we had to have permission to be there and take pictures.......I'll look into it furthur next week.

Celebrated Mom's B-day

We waited until the girls were home for March break to celebrate my birthday. Paul made the cake(chocolate)and Brenna frosted it. We had a roast beef supper with steamed carrots and squash, it was delicious.

March Break

This past week was March break for the girls. They arrived home for supper on Friday. We had a great weekend....lots of food, the washer and dryer only rested at night when we did, the internet got a workout between the XBox 360(Live Halo), our computer and the laptops. There was some studying and reading going on in between. Monday Paul went back to work so the we had a spa day......
Facials...
Foot soaks.....

Manicures.

On Tuesday they returned to Fredericton....they were missing Jack and Kirby. I had a quiet Wednesday at home and it was back to work on Thursday. I have been delayed in posting on the blog because our computer died on Monday and we just got it back on Friday....the mother board died( a place can't function without a mother), and thank goodness it was still under warranty!!!!!
