Deck Almost Back Together

Paul picked this up at Home Depot. It is the "Camo" hidden deck fastening system. It only works with a 1X6 board. The original decking was 1X4 but we like the new look. We are probably 2/3 done the decking.

Relaxing Sunday

Isaac can now touch the bottom of the pool on his tiptoes!

This year Sasha spent more time in the pool nad less playing on the deck.

The Van Kessels were out for the day. We had a great afternoon in the pool and supper on the deck.

Isaac asked me to take some pictures of him and Sasha. We wandered around the yard and took theses pictures.

Todays Progress

Overnight we had over 2 inches of rain. It stopped by early morning and Gary and Vern were here at 9:00am. They dug around the other 2 sides of the house and found ALOT of water. They managed to lay and connect the rest of the weeping tile and the potential is there to finish tomorrow.

One Wall of Three

Backfill and weeping tile removed

Wall tarred

New weeping tile layed

Crushed rock over tile

Wall insulated, fabric over crushed rock. More crushed rock.

Back filled to allow access through front door.
Hope to start in back tomorrow, weather permitting.

Let the Digging Begin

Gary, the contractor, was here shortly after 0700hr. this morning. Brad arrived shortly after to scope the lines. As suspected the weeping tile around the 8 ft. basement was full of water and silt. GOOD NEWS is the weeping tile around the 4 ft. basement is dry and clear. We also had the lines from the house scoped and all is clear.
So we are only proceeding only with the 8 ft. basement.
The weather was questionable this morning.....thunder, showers but this afternoon has cleared. The hole on the front side is dug, they have tarred the wall and insulation will follow.
Stayed tuned for more updates.
