Christmas Spirit

Yesterday I was standing in line waiting to cash out.
This lady and her daughter were standing behind me.
I noticed they were both wearing the same snowman pin and I asked where they had gotten them.
The lady proceeded to reach into her pocket, pull one out and give it to me.
I was quite surprised but very pleased. She paints them and gets the cutouts from a company in Ontario.
She said she carries them around in her pocket and hands them out to people.
I repeatedly thanked her, we exchanged Merry Christmas and off we went in our own directions.
In the hustle of the christmas season, long lines at the cash, no parking available, irritated shoppers, that made my day.....something so simple yet so kind.

Family Pictures

Thanksgiving weekend we went up to Unity Park here in the bay and took some pictures.
It was difficult to get Charles to co-operate but such is life......we are quite pleased with them.

(I have been off the grid for awhile but in the new year hope to pick up where I left off in the summer.)

Fall Painting Class

  This was just by accident.
It was a practice canvas for doing apples with knife and turned into an actual picture....8X10 canvas.
We did our silent auction at work last week to help a family over the holidays and this piece sold at the auction. I also donated an abstract piece and a 8X10 birch tree painting, both of which sold.

This was done with knife ( it inspired the above piece) on a 16X20 canvas.

Winter scene with covered bridge 8X10 piece.
It was suggested that we take a picture and then have it made into Christmas cards...I just might do that for next year.

In this piece we learned about shadows......I am not so pleased. it might get gessoed over and become something else.

Christmas Party

Me and some of the girls from work.
Wouldn't recognize us in our clothes.....I mean our street clothes :-)

Last friday we went to my work christmas party.
it was at Riverside Golf Club.....dinner and dance.
