 Boys with Santa

Everyone managed to get home for Christmas.

Unfortunately 3 of the 8 of us had a bug or flu come the night of the 25th.

Today, the 29th, is the first day I have been up a good part of the day and feeling more like myself.

This piece was requested by a co-worker for her daughter for Christmas. Apparently an elephant with its trunk up means good luck.

 

This piece was requested by another co-worker for her friend.

Cedar waxwings

On sunday morning the trees in the back yard were full of cedar waxwings.

Then they moved to the front of the house for awhile and then continued moving north. 

There had to be 200-300 birds.

Annual Orthopaedic Christmas Party

On Friday evening we attended the annual ortho christmas party.

Once again a lovely meal.

We came home after the meal.....no dancing for me this year!

Back to Work

 

 
I have been given the clearance to return to work. I start back on Monday, October 17th. Despite the bad foot it has been the longest time I have been off work since having the girls and a wondeful introduction to retirement.

Herman: Husband/Father/Brother/Opa

Dad is at peace after a tiring struggle with dementia.

He passed away on October 1st, 2016.

All of the family were able to get home and two of dads sisters and niece came from Holland.

It was a great reunion with lots of stories, lots of laughter and lots of tears.

Back to Pool Time

I had the cast removed on Wednesday. All is healed. I am in a walking boot now and over time will gradually increase the weight I put on the broken foot. I am not quite 100% but probably close to 85-90%. I carefully got into the pool today for the first time in 8 weeks. It felt great.

With my broken foot I am exiled to the house....no outdoor work. Therefore I am enjoying some long missed painting time.

The above picture is my version of one of my clematis plants in my back yard.
