I have an animal digging in my shrub bed at the back of the house. Now that my crocus' and tulips are coming up I notice some digging around them. These were found on the back deck this morning after a light snow fall last night. What could it be....not a cat, not a dog, I don't think a racoon, maybe a rabbit????? Any suggestions??

Hmmm Dutch girl....that is a mystery. HotRod and I love blog mysteries though....we think those little paws look a lot like raccoon though...but the tracks aren't very raccoon-like...a mystery indeed!

My vote is racoon too. They have creepy little hand-paws like that... I saw a kitty trying to infiltrate my 'garden' yesturday!! Luckily there is so much reno garbage on the deck I was able to throw a large piece of wood with a nail sticking out of it at the kitty. It was either that or the old toilet seat... though the toilet seat is awkwardly shaped and may have needed more of a shot-put throw to really get the distance.... I missed either way :)
