My crocus' are all in bloom, the tulips are coming up, I spotted my peonies peeking through the ground and as I walk around the gardens other perennials are emerging. I want to rake all the dead leaves away but in the back of my mind I say "NO it's too early", but in reality we are a whole month ahead. It's now 1100hr. and already it's 8 degrees .
When you look outside it is soooooo beautiful that if it wasn't for the fact that there is no leaves on the trees and the grass isn't green you would think it is going to be a hot summer day.

should I be cleaning out my flower beds? They are all covered in dead plants...Should I leave it be and see what happens, or clean out the dead brush? I have plants that come back every year (annuals? perennials??)...a hosta, chives, day lilies...
I've been holding back from cleaning out my beds (with great difficulity). I called Cedarcrest Nursery and they said that the ground isn't frozen and as far as they are concerned it's OK to rake the dead stuff off and start to airate the ground. Most of my perennilas are growing...I seem to see more green in the garden every day.
Dutch Girl.....I'm writing to something you said a bit ago?????It's time for a change...WELL IF YOU DO AS YOU SAID, guess who you really will look like? Send us some pictures.
