Italian Supper

Paul and I arrived in Ottawa today. Anne cooked a lovely Italian meal.


Our appetizer was a flat bread covered with onion chutney, sliced pear, walnuts, grated old cheese and baked in the oven.

Salad was arugula, with brie, sliced orange and prosciutto,
What followed was gnocchi with a cream sauce or a tomato sausage sauce.



There was lots to drink.
1. Sparkling wine: Bottega Prosecco
2. Wayne Gretzky 99, unoaked chardonnay 2008- White
3. Montecorna Valpolicella, classico superiore 2007- Red

Dessert was Apple torte.

Mmmmmm, Rod and I are just discovering Amarone and Valpolicella... so good!
