Yesterday we drove to Lynden to spend a couple of days with Lori and Ken. It's about 1.5 hours from Margie. They are in there new home, it is still a work in progress but very livable and comfortable.
The house is about 1km off the main road and the house is literally in the forest....just as they had planned. I am having trouble loading pictures so this is just a taste of what it looks like. This is the kitchen and above it is the guest bedroom with an ensuite bathroom.
Opposite the kitchen is their living room and above that is Ken and Loris office.
Behind the bookcase is their bedroom with an ensuite bathroom.
The brick chimney has a zero clearence fireplace on both sides and extends approx. 20 feet from floor to ceiling. The weight of the chimney is 70,000-80,000 lbs. They heat with wood when necesary.
The floors are all radiant heating.
It was built as a "green home" and next year they hope to come off the grid with solar lanels.
This is the view from the livingroom as well as from the bedroom we stayed in. Last night I woke up and their was a full moon peaking through the trees....absolutely beautiful.
This is what we see when we open our bedroom doors, and we can simply walk across the bridge to the office.
